Worship Service

Bilingual Worship Service

Bible Study at 10:00, Worship Service at 11:00

Our worship service is bilingual in Japanese and English Languages. Japanese-speaking people sing in Japanese; English-speaking people in English. Prayers are offered in the two languages. Preaching is also done in the two languages so that all the attendants understand the message.  We come together in the name of Jesus Christ

International in Nature

We are a unique congregation because the make-up of the church is unique. We have a family from Nepal and a lady from Shanghai China. They worship in the Japanese language.

Our people come from different countries. Although we have different cultures and backgrounds, we have one thing in common that is Jesus Christ. He is the Lord and Savior.

I am Japanese, but being a Christian comes first before my nationality. In our church, nationality is not relevant but Jesus Christ is always relevant in our relationship because he brings us together. He is our King and our Lord. He is everything to us.

The Focus of the Service

The focus of the service is on Jesus Christ, the Lord and the Saviour who has taught us the way of life. As he came down from heaven, he gave up his glory. He sacrificed his life for us and died on the cross on behalf of us. His ultimate sacrifice is forever present with us.

“Let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, looking to Jesus, the founder and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is seated at the right hand of the throne of God.”

Hebrews 12:1-2

As we take the Lord’s Supper, we focus on Jesus Christ and open up our hearts to our God in heaven. With the bread that represents the body of Christ, we remember his whole life, teachings, and sacrificial way of life. With the fruit of vine and the blood of Christ, we remember his ultimate sacrifice for our sins. We lift our thanks in our prayers. God became a human and made himself a sacrifice for us.

For I received for the Lord Jesus on the night when he was betrayed tood bread, and when he had given thanks, he broke it, and said, “This is my body, which is for you. Do this in rememberance of m.” In the same way also he took the cup, after supper, saying, “This cup is the new covenant in my blood. Do this, as often as you drink it, in rememberance of me.” For as often as you eat this bread and drink the cup, you proclaim the Lord’s death until he comes.”

1 Corinthians 11:23-26

Not only remembering his cross, we also take up our cross to live this earthly life according to God’s will. By carrying our cross, we try to live the gospel message as Christ commands.

We are the disciples of Jesus Christ; therefore, we fix our eyes on him in our whole life.  No matter what happens in this life, Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.

Glory to God

It is crucial for us to understand why we come together at the worship service. The purpose of gathering together in the name of Jesus Christ is to glorify God. We glorify God not only by attending the worship service but also by living a godly life and striving to obey Jesus Christ. We should never forget it lest we may miss the mark.
